I’m really excited to lead a book discussion with the youth and adults from Bethlehem about the importance of promoting education and girls’ empowerment both globally and locally. The event is open to the public, so come and bring a friend! Reading the book before the discussion is not required (but is encouraged!).

Book Signing
Magers & Quinn, Minneapolis
I’ll be hanging out and signing books at one of my favorite bookstores in the world! This is a fantastic excuse to get some meaningful holiday shopping accomplished early. Please come keep my company, support independent booksellers, and invest in the girls of Kibera Girls Soccer Academy!
Thursday, December 7, 7-8pm
Discussion with Ellie Roscher & Caren Stelson
Common Good Books, St. Paul
Every time I meet with Caren Stelson I get more excited about this event. We talk about how we fell in love with the stories. We talk about the responsibility of being the writer, the weight of the role, the story being our companion, and what we learned from the brilliant folks we listed to. This event will highlight the female warrior survivors at the center of our books, Sachiko and Asha. Sachiko, the story of a Nagaski bomb survivor, just won the Jane Addams Children’s Book Award for peace and social equity. It is well deserving. I’m honored to share the stage with a gifted writer and powerful book. Please join us!
